Recently,


within the haven of Avalon Gardens Plant Nursery

Faye and I were on a mission,


We sought information on the Cleopatra Magnolia


Lidi advised us to return during the Bare Root cycle to order this lovely tree which we will do

I am fortunate to have supports’ who are dear friends, as members of the Order, 'of the Green Leaf' with me


exploring resources and locations where we can interact

not only with staff,

but the plants and trees themselves.

stood with Faye and I

as I explained

demonstrating our gifts, stroking the trunk of the tree


as the Cleopatra Magnolia danced and swayed

right

before

her eyes,

she had,

as Faye told me later,

been watching closely as this gorgeous tree danced' for us


I had explained how we are born possessing Plant DNA and hybrid genome,

why

we can make plants move and practically dance,

our connection to the Green World is both beneficial for mental to physical health and wellness,

also

an expression of an Earth-based Spirituality

linking us to the Earth Mother


I then spent a little time highlighting the point

that all, if not most of us


are made up of human and plant DNA

along with other genetic characteristics

for up to one billion years or thereabouts,

has its 'roots' in the microbial - Fungal realm with hybridization throughout the Mesozoic taking up The Triassic, Jurassic to the Cretaceous periods


As we receive 'horizontal transfer of plant DNA and genetics,' what science terms, 'recombinant DNA' and its derivatives,


we are 'active'


in my case, my interests in shamanic wisdom, witchcraft, occult to meditation and living in a world of beauty in Nature,

my pre-disposition to be an active agent, to awaken others, makes me, as founder and "Mother Link" the Earth Mother's Priestess" after another manner,

Shall you know my story?

through theatre,

If a book be a representation of myself,

as a story comes alive for you,

Then

I have accomplished my task

absorbing your adulation.




Finding myself

standing before a horse drawn carriage,

without consent,

rolling by,

identifying with spirals of cobblestoned indifference,

the background, haunts the mediocre

making it their own,

hungering for the approval of the Artful Dodger,

a drink with a twist to my deepening state of being.

People gather in the park, lost in a Strand of flowers and Trafalgar musings,

a familiar sensibility in anonymity,

turning slowly

in a tight circle, within my spinning head,

In a Roman styled dress,

I stood upon a stone causeway,

leading deeper into the old town of Lundinium,

The city of Lunar



I observe

the Ravens leaving the Tower to find a new home,

So then, must I


I decry the wanton self-absorption of the ignorant, and affluent.

As I stop the Sundial in a moment of refraction

Magpie Dawning

My Magpie sings his morning song,

as I wave,

yes,

I wave at my Magpie,

he isn't really mine, but we are kindred and that suits me fine.

What do we do on our street?

Dreams, offering ground cover to our transient fragility,

worn down by the persistence of continuous silence

Hope,

stoked by the fires of warm greetings,

music, wafting like delicious food on the cooking fires

tenderizing my spirits.

The meeting of minds,

strangers

seeming not to see us when we smile,

or turn in a slow circle to capture the sounds of a sweet Magpie,

I hear the sound of wings,

Stormy Dawn, as I have named him,

on his way to some haven, amid a cluster of beautiful Gum Trees,

How I wish I could fly,

to follow him there

upon my own wings,

Alas, this is but a dream, dreaming on my part,

I sigh.

My neighbors know me well

Occasionally picking up my overturned wheely bins

victims of the fierce gale’s native to our suburb

returning them to their pride of place before my garage.

I think of those heady days when I could breathe in the scent of printed pages of one of my favourite books,

I was never without one

now,

I am reduced to digital pages,

My eyes don't quite know what to do with themselves,

having deserted me

Jane Austin must miss my eyes prodding beneath the narrative seeking to unearth undiscovered meanings

allowing me to lace my daily drink of imaginative speculations with something tantalizing,

Oh, how I delighted in my Golden Books,

The wind reminds me of where I am,

standing by my letterbox like some kind of protective mother,

should I burp the baby?

No,

my tiny mailbox fails abysmally to serve as a cradle of inspiration

making a loud clanking noise

as the Indian Minor Bird complains at its failings in the tree across the road definitely no songbird.

The traffic notices nothing, a blank stare, expressionless windscreens, devoid of consciousness ,

I am left feeling like I've lost my purse, or the number of a long-lost friend.

I smile

pirouette

shaking off unjustified feelings of loss,

I long to get out of this house for a time

Oh, to dance with abandon once again,

everyone is so afraid, long after the crisis has abated.

A mug of witchy brew,

Hazelnut coffee will do the trick,

yes,

that's the ticket!

I then sang

"She's got a ticket to ride, and she don't care"

feeling sad,

finding myself beginning to cry,

cursing my tear ducts for such a display of emotion

leading me into nothingness,

forming a tapestry, I am unable to see, if I had eyes what would it look like?

Teddy Bears, cupcakes

Mary, Mary, quite contrary

has an argument with herself and loses the debate.

Now her Cockle Shells are fashioned into a necklace she will never wear.

Eat your heart out Miss Havisham!!

Ella reads out our itinerary

I pour out my thoughts, feelings on my sorry lot

like soggy newspapers tossed into the recycle bin,

I am a case,

I feel good, despite wiping away the tears over essentials I may acquire,

the image of a pretty Blue Tongue Lizard swimming in circles

so cute

irresistibly gorgeous within a large circular bowl makes me smile and laugh as the rains hammer down.

Ella prods me cautiously, as I could come out with anything silly at this point,

I pause, laugh, then put on the kettle.

She makes Some calls on my behalf, searching on-line.

I see, in my mind’s eye

a lovely apple cinnamon muffin washed down with some lovely coffee

pointless, yet the thought sustains me.

I offer a wry grin at something Ella has said, put on my seatbelt, and we're off

yes,

smiling to myself,

the day is not so bleak.

People are the moments that lighten the load,

putting a spring in our step,

though love locked behind the barriers of a pandemic, the theatre of my life offers more than just sunrise and nightfall.
